As the highlight of this year's Chinese Pavilion, the theme "Building Friendship Through Martial Arts" attracted enthusiastic participation from students and staff throughout the day.

During the event, teachers introduced students to the history, philosophy, and cultural significance of Chinese martial arts before guiding them through a range of interactive activities. Participants learned fundamental martial arts movements and explored traditional disciplines such as Tai Chi Fan and Tai Chi Sword. They also had the opportunity to observe and handle a variety of traditional Chinese martial arts weapons—including the broadsword, spear, straight sword, and staff—gaining first-hand insight into this unique aspect of Chinese culture in a safe and engaging environment.

More than just a physical discipline, Chinese martial arts embody values such as respect, self-discipline, perseverance, and courtesy. Through these hands-on experiences, students from diverse cultural backgrounds gained a deeper appreciation of the rich traditions and enduring spirit of Chinese culture.

In addition to the martial arts activities, the Chinese Pavilion featured a range of interactive cultural experiences, including Kuaiban and land dragon boat racing, encouraging students to learn through participation and cultural exchange.

Students enjoyed the lively rhythms and audience interaction of Kuaiban, gaining an introduction to this distinctive form of traditional Chinese performing arts. The land dragon boat racing activity, which combined fun, teamwork, and friendly competition, quickly became a favourite among participants, filling the pavilion with energy, laughter, and excitement.

These engaging hands-on experiences sparked students' curiosity about Chinese culture while creating meaningful opportunities for cross-cultural learning and interaction. By exploring different aspects of Chinese traditions in an enjoyable and inclusive environment, students were able to develop a deeper appreciation for the richness and diversity of Chinese culture.
